Aug 9th Virtual Worship

St. Alban’s Anglican Chapel meets for worship every Monday evening from 1800-1930 during term. However, on just two Sundays a year, we have the privilege of leading worship for 4th class cadets during the two Sundays that bookend Challenge Week. Unfortunately, we did not get to hold our worship for the 4th Class on this first Sunday of Challenge Week due to the 4th Class being screened en masse for Covid-19. This screening is one of many measures that The Citadel has taken to open campus in the most responsible way possible. St. Alban’s Anglican Chapel supports these measures and we will be implementing some measures of our own as we prepare to open Chaplain Rob’s office, our St. Alban’s Lounge, as well as our Monday evening chapel worship and Thursday evening Bible studies.

Even though we couldn’t meet this past Sunday, we were able to put together a few resources for you to worship, hear God’s word, pray, and see some familiar faces. Click through the links below to move through at your own pace. As always, if you don’t have a Bible but would like one, please swing by Chaplain Rob’s office on the 3rd Floor of MCH and we would be happy to provide you with one.

The Gospel Reading was the Parable of the Good Samaritan read by Cadet Ashley Cranfill

The Sermon, preached by Rob Sturdy

The Anglican Church has used short forms to help guide the prayers of the congregation. These are read by Cadet Aaron Weiss. The best way to use these short prayers is to stop and think about what is being said. You might even want to stop the video, and pray through what and who God brings to your mind.

We look forward to seeing you in person, even if its behind a mask!
